In 2009, Ms. Davis teamed with Dr. Dorothy Bassett, Dean of the School of Leadership and Professional Advancement (SLPA) at Duquesne University to launch a first-of-its-kind M.S. of Science in Global Leadership on-line. The purpose of the program is to build partnerships between the SLPA program and Universities in developing nations to present this graduate program on-line. Faculty around the world work together to teach students about leadership from the cultural perspective. Students team together in a world wide virtual classroom.
Ms. Davis was an appointee of former President George W. Bush. She is appointed by Governor M. Jodi Rell of Connecticut to the position of Commissioner for the Permanent Commission on the Status of Women. She worked with the White House from 2001 to 2005 on housing, small business, HIV/AIDs in Africa, Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), global trade, welfare reform and women's issues. She is a member of board of directors for the Connecticut World Affairs Council and a member of the Board for the Al Waref Foundation (A Middle Eastern Policy and Public Affairs think tank in Washington, DC, Lebanon and Morocco). She is also an Ambassador for the Goodwill Treaty for Peace. In February 2010, Ms. Davis was bestowed a humanitarian award by Orphan's International; a U.N. sanction organization. She was honored for her leadership.
